After working in the IT industry for several years, I discovered that my true passions lie in teaching, learning, and solving scientific problems. These interests are better suited to academia than to industry. As a result, I decided to leave my position as a senior network engineer and pursue graduate studies. Through research, I can fulfill a crucial aspect of my career mission, that is: Doing research that enables the development of software that enhances the quality of lives for our society.
During my graduate education, I had the privilege of working with two renowned professors who supervised my research. Dr. Indrakshi Ray, a distinguished Cybersecurity scholar, oversaw my master's project, while Dr. Robert B. France , a leading researcher in Software Engineering, guided my doctoral research. I am grateful for the inspiration and guidance provided by these exceptional educators, who have played a significant role in shaping my scholarship and professional pursuits.
I am honored to have been nominated twice for the prestigious Distinguished University Scholar of the Year award. Although the award itself recognizes scholarly achievements, I see these nominations as a testament to the impact of my research and creative activities within the university community. They reflect my colleagues' recognition of my contributions to scholarship and the advancement of TAMIU's research profile. These experiences have further motivated me to strive for excellence in my research endeavors and to contribute meaningfully to the intellectual growth of our institution.
Securing grants is crucial for faculty members. Grant funding is essential for research projects, allowing faculty to pursue innovative work. It also contributes to the institution's research reputation and helps attract top-tier students and faculty. Additionally, successful grant acquisition can increase collaboration, publication, and professional advancement opportunities.
